Tihar is celebrated at the end of autumn season in the mont of Kartik. It is harvesting season, so we do not have to feel difficulties to observe this festival.

We celebrate tihar for five days. On the first day of tihar we worship crow, so it is known as crow festival. We left the food in on place and crows eat the food and go anytime.
The second day is called dog festival. Dogs are worshiped by offering them garland putting tika.
Like wise, the third day is known as Laxmi puja. One this day, laxmi is regarded as the Goddess of fortune and wealth. At night people worship an image orpicture of Laxmi. Houses are kept clean and well decorated. To please the Goddess Laxmi, lights are kept burning all night. On this day we even worship cow.

The fifth and  day of chief festival is called Bhai Tika. On this day, sister worship or honour their brothers. They offer tika, garlands and sweets.
In return, of their sister's honour brothers give them presentbof different things.
